Looking Back at 2025 – A Journey of Milestones and Breakthroughs

Let us look back at the outstanding milestones of Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine and Pharmacy (PCTU) in 2025 – a year marked by strong, persistent, and in-depth progress in building a standardized, modern, and internationally integrated medical education environment.

A Significant Increase in International Students

Opening the picture of 2025 is the presence of nearly 100 international students and trainees from Belgium, Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, India, and Japan who came to study, conduct research, and undertake clinical internships at PCTU—doubling the number compared to the previous year. Among them, 70 students enrolled in the General Medicine (MD) program, while the remainder participated in research projects and short-term clinical internships.

The growing presence of international students not only fosters a multicultural academic environment but also contributes to enhancing and spreading PCTU’s image on the regional and global medical education map.

An Expanded Learning Ecosystem

The year 2025 marked the inauguration of two major facilities that became highlights of the University’s educational ecosystem.

First, the newly designed Library features a modern and inspiring space, offering a quiet, comfortable, and positive learning environment. Since its opening, the library has quickly become a familiar destination for students after class hours.

Second, the Phan Chau Trinh University Medical Hospital, located right within the campus, officially began receiving patients in March 2025. The hospital is a pioneer in implementing electronic medical records and paperless operations across all processes. It is equipped with advanced medical technologies and integrated AI-based solutions to support accurate diagnosis and optimize treatment workflows.

In parallel with healthcare services, the hospital also serves as a high-quality clinical training center, providing students with on-campus practical training opportunities and ensuring a close integration between theory and practice.

Launching a New Academic Program – Viewing Human Beings as a Whole

Building on this foundation, PCTU continued to launch a new Psychology program (Clinical & Counseling Orientation), with student admissions starting in 2026. The program is implemented within the health sciences training system, clearly reflecting the University’s holistic educational philosophy—where physical and mental health are viewed as an integrated whole aligned with societal needs.

Two Emotionally Significant Milestones of the Year

The year 2025 also marked two deeply memorable events:

• Welcoming nearly 350 new students at the Opening Ceremony, highlighted by the solemn and meaningful White Coat Ceremony.
• Conferring degrees upon nearly 60 new doctors (Class K.19) and new graduates in Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology (Class K.21), marking the end of a long academic journey and the beginning of a new professional path.

Academic Milestones & Student Achievements

In 2025, PCTU officially achieved institutional quality accreditation, while actively strengthening faculty development programs in OBE, outcome-based assessment, and simulation-based teaching with the participation of both domestic and international experts.

On the foundation of liberal education, PCTU students continued to achieve remarkable accomplishments:

• 04 students undertook clinical internships in Germany, Belgium, and the United States.
• 03 students won three Bronze Medals at the IMBC 2025 competition held at Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

These achievements clearly reflect the educational direction that the University has steadfastly pursued.

PCTU Youth – Passionate, Responsible, and Humanistic

Beyond academics, 2025 was also a year full of vibrant colors with a wide range of extracurricular, volunteer, and sports activities—from Spring Gatherings, Macchabée, Mid-Autumn for Children, Warm Winter in the Highlands, to the PCTU Student Sports Festival and creative youth festivals. Each activity became a cherished memory where students grew in skills, character, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

International Partnerships – A Long-term Vision

Concluding the picture of 2025 is the signing of five major international cooperation agreements in research, education, student exchange, and faculty development with leading partners:
