On the afternoon of July 10, Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine solemnly held the 2025 Graduation Ceremony for nearly 60 new medical doctors, nursing graduates, and medical laboratory technicians of the second cohort
The event not only marked the end of an academic journey, but also celebrated a meaningful new beginning — the commitment of our graduates to a lifelong mission of serving community health.
The newly graduated doctors, nurses, and medical laboratory technicians of the second cohort took commemorative photos with the university leadership.
At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Van Cuong – Rector of Phan Chau Trinh University – extended his congratulations to the new graduates and emphasized the university’s philosophy of liberal medical education:
“At Phan Chau Trinh, students are not trained to memorize treatment protocols, but to understand their patients. For the same diagnosis, each patient presents differently and responds uniquely to treatment. That demands careful observation, attentive listening, and sound clinical judgment. That is the essence of liberal medicine.
The university makes strong investments in facilities, including a Simulation Hospital and a University Hospital right on campus, enabling students to practice what they learn. Our Residency Program is a highlight, with rigorous entry exams and excellent outcomes. All graduates complete a thesis project many present in English. Thanks to a disciplined and practice-oriented approach, PCTU students are proving the quality of our training with confidence and compassion. This educational philosophy deeply shapes how PCTU students perceive and choose their career paths"
Phan Van Bao Long, a new graduate from class 19YK1, expressed the sentiments of many young doctors at this milestone moment:
“Each of us came to medicine from different paths, carrying our own unique stories. But today, we are united by one shared goal: to become devoted physicians—with clear minds to make bold decisions, and warm hearts to heal.
The journey has never been easy. It’s been long overnight shifts, first patient encounters filled with hesitation yet sincerity. It’s been joy in recovery, tears in farewell, and smiles at the miracle of life.
There were moments I doubted myself. But our teachers were always there—patient, quiet, and steady pillars of support. I thank my friends, class 19YK1, and above all, my parents—who have quietly stood by me, the most enduring home I’ve ever known. Without their love and compassion, I might not have reached this day…”
The academic program at Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine is developed based on the philosophy of liberal education.
With a student-centered approach, students are exposed to clinical practice early on, working in real hospital environments under the guidance of experienced physicians and nurses. Approximately 70% of the program is dedicated to hands-on practice, allowing students to develop strong clinical reasoning and professional skills before graduation.
The graduation ceremony marks the end of a long journey, but also opens a new chapter—where each graduate carries with them the knowledge, skills, and professional ideals to serve the community.
