In the days leading up to Lunar New Year, a delegation from Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) visited and worked at Bond University (Australia) based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in October 2025, aiming to promote academic exchange and comprehensive cooperation between the two medical education institutions.
Participating in the delegation were representatives from PCTU’s Academic Affairs Office; the Pre-Clinical Simulation Hospital; the Department of Public Health; the Board of Scientific, Technological and Clinical Research; the Center for Biomedical Research and Application; and the International Cooperation Office. These are the core units in the university’s strategy for academic development, research advancement, and international integration.

During the visit, the PCTU delegation toured the Bond University campus and held direct meetings with university leaders and heads of academic and research units. Both sides focused discussions on medical education models, modern teaching methodologies, research and simulation systems, as well as long-term cooperation directions.
One of the key agreements reached was the implementation of a credit-based student exchange program. Accordingly, PCTU students studying at Bond University and Bond students studying at PCTU will have their academic results officially recognized and credited toward formal coursework, rather than being limited to elective placements as previously practiced.

In addition to training, both sides placed strong emphasis on scientific research collaboration. The PCTU delegation visited Bond University’s research centers and discussed the possibility of developing joint research projects in areas such as biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, public health, and medical education.
Simulation-based training was also a highlight of the visit. The delegation toured Bond University’s Simulation Center and exchanged experience in designing and operating simulation systems for pre-clinical and clinical training, as well as competency assessment. These are key areas in which PCTU has been making significant investments through its Pre-Clinical Simulation Hospital and Center for Biomedical Research and Application.
As part of the working visit, PCTU faculty members directly participated in clinical teaching development programs at Bond University, notably the professional development workshop “Teaching on the Run (ToTR)”—a clinical educator training model widely adopted by medical schools worldwide. In addition, PCTU faculty explored gameful learning approaches, aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness and enriching the learning experience for medical students.
Direct participation in these training programs enables PCTU faculty to access modern pedagogical methods and creates a foundation for appropriate adaptation and implementation within Vietnam’s medical education context.
The visit and working sessions at Bond University are considered an important step in PCTU’s strategy for internationalizing medical education. Through collaboration in training, research, and faculty development, the university aims to build an internationally aligned academic environment and enhance the quality of healthcare workforce training in an era of deep global integration.
