50 Korean students complete the Cadaver Dissection Practice course

After 4 days of cadaver-based anatomy training at Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU), on the afternoon of January 8, 50 Physical Therapy students from Chunnam Techno University (Korea) completed the Cadaver Dissection Practice course.

Unlike learning through textbooks, models, or illustrative images, cadaver-based anatomy enables students to accurately identify tissue layers, the vascular system, muscles, and the spatial relationships between organs—providing an essential foundation for developing clinical reasoning from the early stages of training.

Throughout the course, the Korean students were divided into groups and practiced dissections directly under the guidance of PCTU lecturers and teaching assistants. After a visit to Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, the student groups moved on to the final presentations, sharing the key content they had learned and demonstrating their ability to connect anatomical knowledge with clinical applications.

Many presentations showed clear progress in students’ ability to identify tissue layers, the vascular system, muscles, and the relationships among organs in the human body. These are essential competencies that will support their learning and clinical practice in the future.

Sharing at the closing session, student Gong Moon Hyung said that learning anatomy directly on cadavers helped him better understand the differences between textbook knowledge and real anatomical structures.

The outcomes of the course highlight the effectiveness of a training model that integrates theory with hands-on practice. This also serves as a foundation for PCTU to further expand international collaboration programs, offering a practical, standardized, and high-quality learning environment for students in the time ahead.
