Welcoming south Korean students to PCTU for cadaver anatomy training

It is no coincidence that a training program continues to be chosen time and again.

On August 18, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) welcomed 12 fourth-year students majoring in Skin Care and Aesthetics from Busan Health University (South Korea) for a program of study and cadaveric anatomy practice. This marks the third time that students from Korean universities have come to PCTU to participate in this training program.

For students in Skin Care and Aesthetics, anatomical knowledge provides an essential foundation for developing a deeper understanding of the human body, particularly the head, face, and neck regions. Therefore, the opportunity to directly observe and identify anatomical structures on cadavers offers a learning experience that textbook images cannot fully replace.

During the first session, MSc, Resident Physician Le Duc Thanh Nhan – an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital – directly guided the students in reviewing key anatomical landmarks and identifying the locations and relationships among structures of the head, face, and neck.

Building on their prior knowledge, the students then continued to observe and identify actual anatomical structures on cadavers and compare them with what they had previously learned.

This also reflects how PCTU organizes its practical training programs: bringing academic knowledge closer to real-world practice and providing learners with opportunities to directly observe, discuss, and practice under the guidance of physicians and lecturers.

Over the following days, the 12 students are divided into three groups of four. The small-group format allows each student more time to observe, ask questions, and perform hands-on activities under the close supervision of PCTU’s professional team.
 

Busan Health University is a private university in Busan, South Korea, established in 1978, with a focus on training practice-oriented professionals in healthcare and related fields. The shared emphasis on practical education provides a favorable foundation for academic exchange and training activities between students of Busan Health University and PCTU.

Notably, this is not the first time Korean students have come to PCTU for anatomy study and cadaveric practice.

Following the cooperation agreement between PCTU and Lifein (South Korea), signed in October 2025, short-term training activities for Korean students have gradually been implemented and continue to expand.

In August 2026 alone, following the group of 12 students from Busan Health University, PCTU is expected to welcome an additional 34 Korean students to participate in short-term training programs.
