A sacred moment: K.26 students don their White Coats

At the Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 academic year, K26 freshmen of Phan Chau Trinh University donned their white coats for the first time as part of the White Coat Ceremony.
 

The moment the white coat was presented marked the first steps on a journey into the healthcare professions – a field where knowledge always goes hand in hand with responsibility and dedication to people.

For Hoàng Minh Phương, a K26 Medical student, the moment of receiving the white coat from the lecturers was filled with emotion.

“I felt happy to receive the white coat from my lecturers, the people who will guide me on my journey to saving lives. After taking the Hippocratic Oath, I truly felt the responsibility I will carry in the future: to become a person with medical ethics and to study hard so that I can help save lives. I feel that this oath will shape who I become in the future.”

For Phương, this is also a journey to continue the dream of becoming a doctor shared by her grandfather and father – a dream they were unable to pursue due to family circumstances.

For Nguyễn Thị Thanh Phương, a K26 Psychology student, the white coat marks her first step into the field of mental healthcare.

“The moment I put on the white coat felt very sacred to me. Wearing this coat marked the moment I stepped into the field of Psychology. In the future, I hope to become someone who can help heal others and care for their mental well-being.”

Following the White Coat Ceremony, Phạm Khắc Hoàng, a Medical student in the 2026–2032 cohort, represented the K.26 freshmen in reciting the Oath of the Physician.
 

Before the Supreme Being, the forefathers of medicine, teachers, fellow students, their parents and loved ones, and their own professional conscience, the K26 students collectively pledged themselves to a professional path grounded in saving lives, respecting life, upholding medical ethics, and pursuing lifelong learning as core values.

“I swear!” – the words echoed throughout the hall, bringing a solemn ceremony to a close while opening the door to a long journey ahead.

The white coat they received today may be their first coat as university students. Yet the values entrusted to it will continue to accompany K26 throughout their years of learning, clinical practice, and growth.
