Welcoming nearly 40 international medical students for the first intake of 2026

On the morning of August 31, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) welcomed nearly 40 new international medical students for the first intake of 2026. From this point on, they officially begin the 6-year Medical Doctor program at PCTU.
 

On the enrollment day, the new students were accompanied by their families and relatives, who supported them as they prepared for their years of study and life in a new country.

At the welcome program, students and parents were introduced to PCTU's history, educational philosophy, curriculum, learning environment, and clinical training system. This provided the new students with more information about the place where they will study, develop their skills, and gradually gain exposure to the clinical environment in the years ahead.

In his welcome speech, Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Cường, President of the University, emphasized that the training of a doctor should be built on multiple foundations: professional knowledge, clinical skills, professional ethics, a commitment to lifelong learning, and responsibility toward patients.

Representing the new international medical students, Jasperin Bettina shared her decision to choose PCTU to pursue a career in medicine:

“Becoming a doctor is a dream I have cherished for a long time. To me, medicine is an opportunity to bring hope to patients and stand by their families during difficult times.

Before deciding to study in Vietnam, I explored many different options and chose Phan Chau Trinh University because I was particularly interested in its practice-oriented training model and opportunities for early clinical exposure. I believe that medicine cannot be fully learned from books alone. We need to observe, experience, and gradually learn to understand patients in a real-world environment. Today, I am very happy to officially begin my medical education journey at PCTU.”

After the program, the new students toured the campus and became familiar with the lecture halls, laboratories, teaching hospitals, and study spaces before beginning their official academic program.

2026 marks the third consecutive year that PCTU has welcomed international students to its Medical Doctor program. The presence of students from different countries contributes to a multicultural learning environment, providing more opportunities for language use and interaction between Vietnamese and international students.
