On November 8, 2025, the finals of the International Medical Biochemistry Competition 2025 (IMBC 2025) officially concluded. The student team from Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) won three Bronze Medals at the event.
IMBC 2025 is an international academic competition for health sciences students, hosted by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Thai Nguyen University). This year’s competition took place from November 7–9, bringing together 40 teams with 120 contestants from 21 domestic universities and one international team from Thailand.
Teams competed across three rounds—Preliminary, Semifinal, and Final—focusing on advanced knowledge of medical biochemistry, critical thinking, and the practical application of concepts in modern medicine.
PCTU was represented by six students, under the guidance of Dr. Phan Le Minh Tu (Biochemistry lecturer; PhD in South Korea; former postdoctoral researcher in South Korea and the United States) and Mr. Mai Van Khanh (Student Affairs Office). Among them, three students—Murugan Rajeswari Swetha (24DM1), Choudhary Chirag (24DM1), and Vimalathithan Bindu Yazhini (24DM1)—excelled in subject expertise, analytical skills, and presentation, outperforming many competitors to bring home three Bronze Medals.

Beyond showcasing student academic excellence, IMBC also provides a platform for universities to exchange teaching and research experiences in medical biochemistry—the foundation of modern medicine. PCTU’s achievement at IMBC 2025 serves as an inspiration for students to continue researching, innovating, and integrating within the health sciences field
