On the afternoon of October 16, 2025, the Opening Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year at Phan Chau Trinh University came to a close, yet the emotions it evoked remained in the hearts of all who attended.
More than just a milestone marking the beginning of a new academic year, the ceremony was a sacred moment when nearly 400 Vietnamese and international freshmen officially reached their dream of donning the white medical coat.
From the very first moments, the soulful sound of the violin and performances by PCTU students filled the hall with a lively yet heartfelt atmosphere. Behind that joy was a deep sense of pride in becoming part of a university dedicated to nurturing the physicians of the future.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Tùng – Chairman of the University Council – shared with emotion:
“A physician does not merely practice a profession but fulfills a promise — a promise to life. Let the white coat remind you of that noble mission: learn to understand, heal with compassion, and live to serve.”

Following that, Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Cường – Rector of the University – conveyed his blessings and trust to the new generation of students:

“Being admitted to the health sciences field is a great honor as well as a profound responsibility. It is a journey that requires relentless effort to be worthy of society’s trust and to be capable of caring for and protecting the community’s health.”
The highlight of the ceremony was the White Coat Ceremony – a symbol of compassion and the spirit of service. When 40 faculty members, including Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors, Masters, and Physicians, personally placed the pristine white coats on the shoulders of the new students, the entire hall seemed to glow with a sacred and emotional shade of white. The coat is not merely professional attire but a reminder of responsibility, integrity, and the solemn oath of the medical profession.

The moment became even more meaningful when nearly 400 freshmen in the health sciences collectively took the Physician’s Oath. It was a sacred vow of those who have chosen a path devoted to the preservation of life.

The freshmen proudly recited the Hippocratic Oath – a sacred commitment of those embarking on the path of community healthcare.
That solemn atmosphere grew even more profound as two freshmen, representing the new generation, took the stage to share their thoughts. Their simple yet heartfelt words touched the audience deeply—a promise to study and train diligently to be worthy of the trust placed in them by their families, teachers, and society.

“I could feel the pride and trust that our teachers have placed in us, and that will be my motivation to keep striving,” shared Võ Thị Thùy Trang, a freshman majoring in Nursing.

These included the Hope Fund Scholarship, Direct Admission Scholarship, Talent Scholarship, Full-Program Scholarship, International Student Scholarship, and Medical Residency Scholarship.
