UK Medical Students Join Clinical Training Program at Phan Chau Trinh University

On April 21, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine at Phan Chau Trinh University held a reception and handover ceremony for three fifth-year medical students from the University of Exeter (United Kingdom), who have come to undertake clinical internships at Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital.

The three students will begin their three-week internship (April 21 – May 9) in the Emergency Department and Obstetrics Department of the hospital. Throughout the internship, the students will directly participate in hospital activities under the guidance of experienced doctors and nurses. In addition to clinical practice, they will also have the opportunity to join on-call shifts, observe, and learn the processes of patient care and treatment in a professional hospital environment.

A representative of the student group shared that they chose Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital for their internship because of their affection for the Vietnamese people and culture, and because they found positive information about the hospital on the university’s official online channels. This highlights how accessible information and a friendly healthcare environment have helped attract international students to study and gain practical experience at Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU).

Earlier, in early February 2025, the PCTU Hospital-University system also welcomed a group of 11 international students from France, Germany, and the United States for clinical internships. They successfully completed their training at Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital—one of nine affiliated teaching hospitals within the PCTU system.

The increasing number of international students choosing to intern at PCTU’s clinical training sites underscores the reputation and quality of medical education at Phan Chau Trinh University. It also demonstrates the growing appeal of PCTU’s clinical training system among global medical students.
