On April 20, 2026, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) welcomed 13 additional medical students from University College London and the University of Leicester (United Kingdom) for a six-week clinical placement.

To kick off their study and experiential journey in Vietnam, the university organized an orientation session at 8:30 AM on the same day, aiming to equip students with essential knowledge and skills before entering the clinical environment.
During the session, representatives of the university provided an overview of PCTU, including its facilities, learning environment, and campus culture. In addition, students were given detailed information about the internship program, schedules, regulations, and key requirements in the medical setting such as professional ethics, patient confidentiality, infection control, and safety during training.
Notably, students were also provided with comprehensive support contacts throughout their internship, including hospital coordinators, emergency support channels, and administrative and daily life assistance. The university also introduced international students to local cultural activities, festivals, and notable destinations, creating opportunities for cultural exchange and exploration.
The orientation session was collaboratively prepared by multiple departments. The Faculty of Medicine was responsible for academic content related to the internship program and hospital regulations, while the Office of Student Affairs handled administrative support, student life information, and ongoing student connection during their stay.

After the orientation, the students visited the Library, the Medical Museum, and the Simulation Hospital—distinctive learning spaces at PCTU.

According to the plan, from April 21, 2026, the students will officially begin their clinical placement at Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital and Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital. The program not only provides practical learning experiences but also contributes to strengthening academic connections and cultural exchange within PCTU’s international medical education environment.
