Slovak Medical Students Join PCTU’s Clinical Internship Program for the First Time

On the morning of July 20, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) officially welcomed Jana Tomkova and Morgana Grolmus, two fifth-year medical students from Comenius University Bratislava (Slovakia), for their clinical internship program. This marks the first time PCTU has hosted medical students from this Eastern European country, representing another milestone in the university’s expanding international partnership network.

Comenius University Bratislava is recognized as one of Europe's most prestigious and modern higher education institutions. It is also the only Slovak university consistently represented in leading global academic rankings. With 13 faculties covering medicine, natural sciences, and social sciences, the university offers a wide range of distinctive programs and internationally recognized educational standards.

During their internship in Vietnam, the two Slovak medical students will undertake clinical training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital. Under the direct supervision of experienced clinical physicians, they will observe medical consultations and treatments, participate in patient care activities, and engage in professional exchanges to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare system and clinical practices.

Following this program, PCTU is scheduled to welcome nearly 20 additional students from various countries in August for academic exchange and clinical internship activities.
