Every high-quality simulation session begins with well-trained educators. That is why PCTU continues to invest in faculty development, ensuring students learn in an international-standard educational environment.

From June 22–25, faculty members from Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine (PCTU) participated in a Continuing Medical Education (CME) course titled "Simulation-Based Medical Education: NHET-SIM Program Transfer from Australia" at the Preclinical Simulation Hospital of the Institute – University of Medicine.
The course was led by Dr. Jessica Stokes-Parish, Associate Dean (Student Affairs and Service Quality), Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, Bond University (Australia). It provided PCTU faculty with the opportunity to explore simulation-based teaching approaches currently implemented in leading medical schools and healthcare education institutions worldwide.
Over four days, participants engaged in developing simulation scenarios, practicing debriefing techniques, designing standardized patient programs, and organizing learner-centered simulation activities. Beyond theoretical knowledge, every session incorporated hands-on practice through realistic clinical scenarios to strengthen teaching effectiveness.
NHET-SIM is a national training program managed by Monash University (Australia), designed for educators and healthcare professionals who use simulation as a teaching methodology. The program equips participants with a strong foundation in simulation-based education while developing modern teaching competencies aligned with international standards.
This training marks another milestone in PCTU's long-term faculty development strategy. Previously, faculty members completed foundational simulation training with experts from Canada. Participation in the NHET-SIM program further strengthens a core group of educators capable of training future instructors and expanding innovative teaching practices across the institution.
When educators are equipped with advanced teaching methods, students benefit the most. Simulation sessions become increasingly realistic, allowing students to develop clinical reasoning, decision-making skills, and confidence before entering real hospital settings.
The program also reflects the growing partnership between PCTU and Bond University (Australia), reinforcing the University's long-term commitment to advancing simulation-based medical education and continuously aligning its training with international standards.
