On the morning of April 4, at Phan Chau Trinh University Medical Hospital, a professional seminar themed “Latest Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer” was held, with the participation of nearly 100 doctors and healthcare staff in both onsite and online formats. The event created an academic exchange space between experts and participants, in the context that breast cancer remains a major challenge for the healthcare system.

The seminar was organized to update the latest advances in breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment; while also enhancing the professional capacity of the healthcare team in developing personalized treatment protocols, aiming to improve prognosis and quality of life for patients.
Presenting at the seminar were leading experts in the field,
The speakers brought multidimensional perspectives, connecting clinical practice with technological advances in modern medicine.
In the professional content section, the seminar focused on the main pillars in current breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Regarding diagnosis, the presentations emphasized the role of advanced imaging techniques such as MRI and PET-CT in early detection and disease staging, combined with molecular biology testing to improve accuracy in risk stratification. In particular, the approach to hereditary breast cancer through BRCA1/2 mutation analysis was considered an important advancement, not only in screening but also in guiding targeted therapy.
In addition, the application of next-generation sequencing (NGS) was highlighted as a key tool in building tumor genomic profiles, allowing treatment strategies to be personalized. The content also clarified the role of multidisciplinary Tumor Board consultations in integrating clinical, imaging, and genetic information to make optimal treatment decisions for each patient. At the same time, updates from international guidelines (ASCO, ESMO) continued to affirm the trend toward multimodal treatment, flexibly combining surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
The seminar concluded by providing a comprehensive overview of the remarkable advances in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, while emphasizing the shift toward precision medicine in clinical practice. The academic values and experiences shared not only contributed to enhancing the professional capacity of healthcare staff, but also opened more effective approaches in the care and treatment of breast cancer patients in the coming time.
