Welcoming Korean students to PCTU for cadaveric anatomy study

On August 18, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) welcomed 12 fourth-year students majoring in Skin Care and Aesthetics from Busan Health University (South Korea) to participate in a cadaveric anatomy study and practical training program.
 

During the first session, students were directly guided by MSc. MDNT Le Duc Thanh Nhan – an Orthopedic Surgery Resident at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital – on the anatomical landmarks and structures of the head, face, and neck.

Before the practical session, students reviewed key anatomical knowledge and identified the locations and relationships between anatomical structures. Under the guidance and supervision of the instructor, they then directly observed and identified structures on cadavers and compared them with the knowledge they had learned.

Direct exposure to human anatomy helps students better understand the differences between textbook images and actual anatomical structures, while reinforcing their knowledge of the location, morphology, and relationships between structures in the head, face, and neck regions.

In the following days, the program is organized into three small groups, with four students in each group. The small class size allows for more time for observation and discussion, while providing each student with opportunities to perform hands-on activities under the close guidance of PCTU’s team of doctors and lecturers.

Busan Health University is a private university in Busan, South Korea, established in 1978, with a focus on practical training of human resources in healthcare and health-related fields. The shared emphasis on practical education is one of the foundations fostering student exchange and training programs between international students and PCTU.

This marks the third time PCTU has welcomed students from Korean universities to study and practice anatomy, as part of the cooperation between Phan Chau Trinh University and Lifein (South Korea), signed in October 2025.

According to the plan, later this month, PCTU will welcome an additional 34 Korean students to participate in short-term training courses, continuing a series of academic exchange and international training cooperation activities in the field of medicine.
