On the afternoon of August 15, the Center for Biomedical Research and Applications – Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) organized a scientific seminar on the topic “Tissue Engineering – Biomaterials for Tissue Regeneration in Healthcare,” featuring a presentation by Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, a researcher at Paris Sciences et Lettres University (École normale supérieure – PSL, Chimie ParisTech).

Nguyen Ngoc Tuan is a scientist specializing in polymer chemistry, biomaterials, surface engineering, and nanotechnology. Throughout his research career, Dr. Tuan has conducted numerous studies focusing on potential applications in biomedicine and regenerative medicine, including bioresorbable materials, ligament regeneration scaffolds, biodegradable vascular stents, injectable hydrogels for cartilage and bone, and smart surfaces capable of controlling cellular responses.

Highlights from Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan’s presentation at the seminar:
At the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan shared several prominent research directions, including:
- Development of biological scaffolds for ligament and soft tissue regeneration.
- Design of bioresorbable vascular stents with antioxidant properties and the ability to reduce restenosis.
- Application of microfluidics and stimuli-responsive materials to control cell migration and adhesion.
- Emerging research on smart implants combined with immunomodulation to enhance bone–material integration.
In an open academic exchange, faculty members and researchers had the opportunity to learn about recent research findings while discussing potential research directions and international collaboration opportunities in biomedicine and regenerative medicine.

With its focus on advancing scientific research and biomedical applications, PCTU continues to strengthen connections with scientists, experts, and international partners, creating more opportunities to bridge research knowledge with real-world healthcare practice.
