Graduation Ceremony 2026 | The beginning of a journey to serve community health

On the afternoon of July 10, Phan Chau Trinh University solemnly held its 2026 Graduation Ceremony for newly graduated Doctors of Medicine, Doctors of Dental Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing graduates, and Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology graduates.

This ceremony marked a significant milestone as the University's first cohort of Doctors of Dental Medicine officially graduated, contributing a new generation of well-trained dental professionals to Vietnam's healthcare system.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Le Van Cuong, Rector of Phan Chau Trinh University, congratulated the newly graduated doctors, bachelor's graduates, and their families, emphasizing that their achievements today are the result of the University's comprehensive innovation in medical education.
At PCTU, students are trained under the Institute–University model, with 70% of the curriculum dedicated to clinical training. The University has invested in a Pre-Clinical Simulation Hospital, enabling students to begin hands-on practice from their first year at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital of Medicine and its network of affiliated teaching hospitals. Modern educational approaches, including Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), small-group bedside teaching, and the student residency program, are implemented to strengthen students' clinical competence.
Notably, 100% of students complete scientific research projects and graduation theses, with many presenting their work in English.
Beyond its strong commitment to education, Phan Chau Trinh University continues to expand its comprehensive medical ecosystem, including the AACI-accredited Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital of Medicine, the Biomedical Research Center, the Simulation Hospital, the Digital Library, and the Medical Museum, providing students with an integrated environment for learning, clinical training, and research.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan, Vice Rector of Phan Chau Trinh University, shared meaningful reflections on the responsibilities of healthcare professionals. He emphasized that medical education is not only about imparting knowledge but also about developing clinical competence, professional ethics, and a lifelong commitment to learning. For this reason, the University regards the hospital as a second classroom, where students mature through real clinical experiences and learn to place patients at the center of their practice.

He also reminded the newly graduated doctors and bachelor's graduates that a diploma is not the end of their journey but the beginning of lifelong learning to keep pace with the continuous advancement of medicine and technology.
Perhaps the most memorable part of his speech was his simple yet profound wish for his students:
"I long to hear a patient quietly say, 'That is a compassionate physician.'"
Representing the graduating class, Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, a newly graduated Bachelor of Nursing, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her family, lecturers, and the body donors for medical education—the "silent teachers" who gave students their very first lessons about the human body and the sacred value of life.
As the ceremony came to a close, the newly graduated doctors and bachelor's graduates pledged to uphold knowledge as their foundation, medical ethics as their guiding principle, compassion as their way of life, and to practice medicine with integrity and responsibility in service of patients and the community.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026—our newly graduated doctors and bachelor's graduates!
Their journey in the classroom has come to an end, but their journey of serving humanity has only just begun.
