Mr. Le Phuong Vinh, representative of the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) in Vietnam, visited and worked at the university
This collaboration is expected to bring significant benefits to Psychology students of the University, to Obstetricians and Pediatricians, and especially to mothers and families using services at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital. Specifically:
Enhancing the depth of Psychology education by creating opportunities for students to apply psychological science in real clinical settings, particularly in the field of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology. This connection also helps diversify clinical cases and learning situations during internships and practicums, thereby improving students’ abilities to assess and provide psychological support for pregnant women.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Van – Head of the Psychology Department, Phan Chau Trinh University, at the meeting
In addition, professional exchanges between Vietnam and the United States help students broaden their professional perspectives and gradually approach international standards during their training.
Expanding professional capacity through the integration of medicine and psychology, enabling physicians not only to ensure medical safety for both mother and baby but also to proactively address mental health during pregnancy. The addition of psychological knowledge allows doctors to provide more effective and comprehensive consultation and support for pregnant women.
At the same time, the collaboration program will introduce training sessions, professional development activities, scientific research, and academic conferences, contributing to improved healthcare quality and gradually building an obstetrics–pediatrics model that emphasizes both physical and mental well-being.
When using services at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital, in addition to prenatal care packages, expectant mothers will also receive guidance and support from psychological specialists. This comprehensive care helps stabilize emotions, reduce anxiety during pregnancy, and prepare mothers mentally for their journey into parenthood.

Mr. Le Phuong Vinh during his visit to the Obstetrics Department at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital
Mr. Le Phuong Vinh brought insightful and humanistic perspectives to both students and doctors within the Institute–University system, emphasizing that prenatal psychological care and education are not merely complementary options but essential foundations for the holistic development of children from their earliest days of life.
From the University’s perspective, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tung – Chairman of the University Council – also emphasized that:
Caring for a healthy generation does not begin in the delivery room, but from the moment a child is still an “idea” nurtured through the loving preparation of parents. This philosophy reflects the University’s core principle: under the spirit of Liberal Education, PCTU students are trained to understand human beings from their roots.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Tung – Chairman of the University Council – also shared his thoughts during the meeting
The meeting concluded in an open and optimistic atmosphere, marking valuable collaboration opportunities for the field of Psychology in the near future.
