VISIT AND WORKING OF PROF. DR. KLAUS PARKOFER, LUDWIG MAXIMILIANS UNIVERSITY, MUNICH, GERMANY

This morning, on November 7th, Phan Chau Trinh University had the honor of welcoming Professor Dr. Klaus Parhofer from Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany for a visit and working session.

During this visit, Professor Klaus Parhofer delivered two important lectures on recent advancements and updates in the field of endocrinology and metabolism.

*The topic of one of the lectures was "Lipid Metabolism and Dyslipidemia" targeted at physicians across the entire healthcare system of the Tâm Trí Medical Group, which includes six hospitals. The lecture focused on providing updated knowledge and insights on lipid metabolism and the management of lipid disorders.

* Another important topic covered during the visit was "Insulin Therapy," which involved an exchange of medical knowledge and scientific research with faculty members and students in the healthcare field, specifically those in their third year and above. The session provided insights into the principles and practical aspects of insulin therapy, fostering discussions and interactions among the participants.

Professor Klaus Parhofer is renowned as a leading expert in endocrinology and metabolism at Ludwig Maximilians University in Germany. Since 2003, he has held the position of Chair of the Department of Metabolism and Endocrinology at the university's Faculty of Medicine. In addition to his role at Ludwig Maximilians University, Professor Parhofer has also held positions as a postdoctoral fellow at the Lipid Research Center at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and at the Department of Biological Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Previously, Dr. To Viet Thuan, the Head of Training Department and Deputy Head of Clinical Department at the Faculty of Medicine, collaborated with Professor Klaus Parhofer on research related to the prevalence of diabetes at Tam Tri Hospital in Da Nang. The research project is currently in progress and is expected to make significant scientific contributions to the field of diabetes.
