Starting from April 28, medical students from Year 2 to Year 5 at Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) have officially begun their final clinical rotation at various hospitals both within and outside the university’s affiliated network. This important phase offers students valuable opportunities to gain hands-on hospital experience, strengthen clinical skills, enhance communication, and improve problem-solving abilities in real-life medical environments.
Students have been assigned to eight partner hospitals within the PCTU network, as well as to other affiliated healthcare facilities nationwide. Notably, a group of Year 3 students is undertaking their rotation at Tam Tri Hong Ngu International General Hospital (Dong Thap province) — a reputable institution in the Mekong Delta region known for its professional working environment, diverse medical specialties, and wide range of clinical cases. At the hospital, students receive close mentorship from experienced physicians. In particular, as the hospital serves both domestic and international patients, students also get the chance to improve cross-cultural communication skills and develop professional work habits in a globally integrated healthcare setting.
This clinical rotation serves as a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience, build professional confidence, and cultivate a strong sense of social responsibility — all of which are essential foundations on their journey to becoming compassionate and competent physicians.
Meanwhile, first-year students are scheduled to begin their clinical rotation at the end of June , and final-year students are actively preparing for their upcoming graduation thesis defense.
