This morning, international medical students at the Institute – Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine successfully completed their Medical Skills module exam in the form of an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The exam took place at the OSCE Center – a unit dedicated to clinical skills assessment at the Simulation Hospital.
Comprising 7 stations, each presenting a different clinical scenario, the OSCE required students to respond quickly and accurately within a time limit of 1 to 3 minutes per station. Beyond testing knowledge, the exam evaluated practical application, professional demeanor, and composure when faced with simulated patient cases. What makes the OSCE at Phan Chau Trinh University truly modern and professional is its remote monitoring system via multimedia. Instead of being graded directly at each station, the entire process was recorded and streamed to a central control room, where examiners could review and assess objectively—ensuring transparency, fairness, and consistency.
The recorded footage captured students’ thorough preparation, serious attitude, and calm problem-solving—reflecting their systematic training at the Simulation Hospital.
The OSCE is not merely an exam—it is a true measure of clinical competence, and an opportunity for every future doctor to affirm their growth on the path to saving lives.
