Red-shanked Douc Langur Has Become the Symbolic Mascot of Phan Chau Trinh University

From the Image Creation Contest of Mascots held from September 26 to September 30, 2023, the artwork by Truong Hoang Chien, a staff member from the Pre-skills Clinical Center, won the Creative Award and has since become the symbolic mascot of the school.
The Red-shanked Douc is not only visually appealing with mischievous expressions and graceful movements but also captures the elegance and uniqueness of Da Nang’s culture.

Behind this charming picture, the Red-shanked Douc carries profound meaning. This species, residing in Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang, is known as the 'Queen Regnant,' celebrated for its beauty and rarity. Choosing the Red-shanked Douc as the symbolic mascot is also a way for Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) to demonstrate their care and awareness in protecting the environment, especially for those endangered and extinct species.

It can be said that the Red-shanked Douc is not only a symbolic mascot representing the youthfulness, dynamism, ceaseless creativity, and development of the PCTU student generation but also a vibrant symbol connecting the school community and encouraging the spirit of environmental protection.
