With over a year remaining until graduation, the medical students of the 2020-2026 cohort at PCTU have already begun their research journey early, laying the groundwork to complete their theses by 2026. This morning (January 4th), they took an important first step: defending their research proposals.
To ensure high-quality research, the university established six specialized evaluation committees. In this initial session, students in Committees 1 and 2 presented their proposals. Each topic was thoroughly discussed, with students receiving constructive feedback and guidance from the committees to refine their research plans and enhance the feasibility of their projects.
At PCTU, completing a thesis is a mandatory requirement for medical students to graduate. Starting from their fifth year, students are required to select research topics, find academic advisors, and draft detailed proposals. Defending their proposals is a critical milestone, ensuring that their research process is well-structured and poised to deliver meaningful results.
