On the afternoon of May 17, 2025, Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for physicians, titled “Applications of Spectral Computed Tomography and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Stroke Management.” The course was organized in collaboration with GE Healthcare and TD Tech and attracted over 500 doctors nationwide, participating both in person and via remote online access.
The program featured two guest speakers: Dr. Le Minh Thang (Specialist Level II) and Dr. Phan Cong Chien (Resident Doctor, Specialist Level I) from the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan – Vice President of the University – and Dr. Le Xuan Tuy (Specialist Level II), Director of the Hospital, co-hosted and guided the program throughout, ensuring the content was in-depth and clinically relevant.
Through their insightful presentations, the speakers provided a comprehensive overview of AI's potential in early stroke detection and effective intervention — addressing one of Vietnam’s leading causes of death and disability. The course offered participating doctors hands-on exposure to AI-powered medical imaging systems, which significantly reduce diagnosis time and enhance the accuracy of brain lesion assessments, especially in emergency cases. It also served as a valuable opportunity for healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge and stay updated on cutting-edge medical technologies amid the ongoing digital transformation of the healthcare sector.
Located on the university campus, Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital is oriented to develop into a specialized hospital. It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including AI integration, enabling physicians to detect serious conditions early and optimize treatment processes with faster and more accurate diagnostics. Furthermore, the hospital serves as a high-quality clinical training center, offering students hands-on experience with the latest advances in medical science.
