Within the Institute–University ecosystem of Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine, the Newlife Tissue Bank is developed as a key component, connecting education – research – clinical practice, contributing to bringing advances in regenerative medicine into real-world applications.

The Newlife Tissue Bank operates with the orientation of supporting education and scientific research, while providing high-quality tissues and stem cells for therapeutic applications. Its presence within the university system helps shorten the gap between theory and practice, between laboratories and hospitals.
The Newlife Tissue Bank is licensed to fully implement professional activities in the field of tissues and stem cells. Here, biological sources such as umbilical cord blood, umbilical cord tissue, and adipose tissue are received, screened, processed, and stored under strict procedures, ensuring ethical and legal standards.
Hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells are isolated, cultured, and preserved using modern technological systems, maintaining long-term quality. The bank also supplies and exchanges tissues and stem cells with medical institutions and research centers for transplantation, treatment, and scientific projects.
In parallel, Newlife participates in research collaboration, training, and clinical trials in regenerative medicine, contributing to the advancement of biotechnology applications in healthcare.
The Newlife Tissue Bank is comprehensively equipped with nearly 100 modern devices, serving the entire process from collection, processing to storage and cell quality control.
The system includes specialized equipment such as Class II biosafety cabinets, high-speed refrigerated centrifuges, automated cell separation systems, CO₂ incubators, inverted microscopes, and flow cytometry analyzers.
Notably, the storage system uses ultra-low temperature freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks (-196°C) integrated with automatic monitoring, temperature alerts, and backup power supply, ensuring absolute safety for biological samples in all situations.
All processes are operated in cleanroom systems with strict control of temperature, humidity, and pressure, meeting biosafety standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP-WHO) guidelines.
The Newlife Tissue Bank is part of the Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine system, within an integrated ecosystem of education – research – clinical practice, in which:
This model enables close integration between learning – research – practice, while shortening the process of translating research outcomes into clinical applications, especially in areas such as chronic lung diseases (COPD), musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes, and conditions related to regenerative medicine.
Having the Newlife Tissue Bank within the training system provides significant advantages for students of Phan Chau Trinh University.
Students not only learn theory but also have opportunities to directly access processes of stem cell isolation, culture, and preservation in a standardized environment—something not commonly available in many educational institutions.
Through observation, practice, and research participation, students gain a deeper understanding of how biomedical technologies are applied in treatment, thereby developing clinically oriented scientific thinking.
At the same time, the tissue bank opens opportunities for students to engage in scientific research, complete theses, and pursue career paths in advanced fields such as regenerative medicine and medical biotechnology.
