Biomedical Research and Application Center (BMRAC)

The Biomedical Research and Application Center (BMRAC) is directly under Phan Chau Trinh University and is located right on campus. This is one of the university’s key research units, comprehensively invested in infrastructure, technology, and high-quality human resources to serve training, research, and applications in the field of modern biomedical sciences.



Established on the foundation of the Research Center (CRIC), BMRAC is oriented to become the nucleus for research, technology transfer, and applications in the medical-biological field, focusing on core technologies such as cell technology, gene technology, biomedical informatics, and nanomedicine.

BMRAC carries out fundamental research, applied research, training, and science & technology services, contributing to improving healthcare quality and community health according to a personalized medicine orientation.

MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE

BMRAC possesses a system of specialized functional laboratories that meet Biosafety Level II standards and stringent international standards.

Stem Cell Research & Nanomedicine Laboratory System

Built according to GMP standards, meeting ISO 6/ISO 7 cleanroom levels. The closed HVAC system uses HEPA filters, maintaining positive pressure and unidirectional airflow to ensure absolute contamination control.

• Programmable freezing system, liquid nitrogen storage system, ultra-low temperature freezers
• BD FACSLyric™ Flow Cytometer
• BD BACTEC FX40 automated blood culture system

Genomics & Bioinformatics Laboratory System

Built based on Biosafety Level II standards, with separate functional rooms such as mix preparation room, extraction room, library preparation room, sequencing room, and data analysis room following an international standard model.

• MIKRO 220R high-speed refrigerated centrifuge
• AITBiotech abGenix automated DNA/RNA extraction system
• Thermo Fisher Scientific Qubit 4 Fluorometer and Varioskan LUX Multimode Microplate Reader for DNA/RNA quantification
• Thermo Fisher Scientific QuantStudio™ 5 Dx real-time PCR system
• Sample storage system from –25°C to –80°C

TWO STRATEGIC RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

BMRAC focuses on developing two strategic research fields:

Stem Cell Technology and Nanomedicine:

Focused on regenerative medicine, studying the biological properties of stem cells, developing cultivation, storage, and therapeutic application processes, combined with nanotechnology to enhance application effectiveness.

Genomics and Biomedical Informatics:

Focused on genetic and molecular biology studies, gene sequencing, multi-omics data analysis, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI), aiming toward personalized diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.
