Một chiếc áo blouse có thể đưa bạn đi xa đến đâu?

For six fifth-year international medical students from Bond University (Australia), the answer is nearly 7,000 kilometers from Australia to Da Nang.

On the morning of June 22, six fifth-year medical students from Bond University (Australia) officially began a six-week clinical internship program at Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital and Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine Hospital.

Accompanying the group on this visit to Vietnam was Associate Professor Cindy Jones, Co-Lead of the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) Program and Head of International Academic Partnerships (East and Southeast Asia) at Bond University.

Over the coming weeks, their learning journey will take place in the Pediatrics, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology departments. Each day will provide opportunities to observe real clinical situations, gain insights into the operation of Vietnam’s healthcare system, and meet new people who share the same commitment to healthcare.

Medicine may be taught in different languages, educational systems, and hospital environments. Yet, regardless of the country, medical students are united by a common spirit of learning, dedication to patient care, and the aspiration to become outstanding physicians.

Today, Bond University students have come to Da Nang to explore the clinical learning environment in Vietnam. Conversely, PCTU students have also worn their white coats and participated in internship programs in countries such as Germany, Belgium, and the United States.

Although the destinations may differ, these journeys are connected by a shared value: learning from real-world practice, learning from different healthcare systems, and learning from the people they have the opportunity to meet.

It is through these journeys of going and coming that increasingly meaningful academic connections are being built—where students not only bring their knowledge to another part of the world but also return with new perspectives that enrich their path toward becoming physicians in an increasingly interconnected world.
