The thesis defense season for this year’s General Medicine program has officially concluded after many days of serious work by 8 specialized academic committees. By the afternoon of May 16, the final students had successfully defended their graduation theses.

Each thesis topic presented was not merely an academic research project, but also the result of months of diligently reading materials, collecting data, following patients, working at hospitals, and learning how to approach science with the spirit of a future doctor.
This year, the University continued to recognize many students who chose to defend their theses entirely in English. Presenting and defending a thesis in English before committee members was both a challenge and a demonstration of capability, effort, and the spirit of openness in line with the University’s educational philosophy.
Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Dung, one of the students who chose to present her thesis in English, shared:
❝When entering the defense room, we carried with us the confidence cultivated through many years of studying, practicing, and growing in the medical environment. Presenting in English was both a challenge and something that made us feel more prepared to enter the international medical environment as future doctors.
Personally, I currently feel happy to be able to share my topic on conservative treatment of distal radius fractures with lecturers and fellow students. This has been a very meaningful experience, helping me improve my confidence, English-speaking skills, and ability to present scientific information.❞
The completion of the graduation thesis also marks the moment when students are ready to step into a new journey — their professional careers. Perhaps after all this time, each student should give themselves a quiet moment to rest and look back on the very first days when they arrived at PCTU, met patients for the first time, and are now about to become doctors.
Wishing the future doctors of PCTU will always keep within themselves gratitude, kindness toward patients, and the passionate flame they carry today, so that wherever they go, they will always remember the most beautiful years of their youth in medical school.
