Long-Term Residency Opportunities in Japan for Nursing Students

This morning (June 3), the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS) had a working session with the university board about the program for recruiting nurses to work in Japan under the EPA program.

The EPA is a program implemented based on the agreement signed between the governments of Japan and Vietnam. The program aims to help Vietnamese candidates
achieve national certification in nursing and caregiving in Japan, and continue working at hospitals, care facilities, and nursing homes in Japan. JICWELS is the only organization licensed by the Japanese government to coordinate and admit candidates and connect them with medical facilities in Japan for job placement. In Vietnam, the Department of Overseas Labor Management under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs is responsible for this matter.

Participating in this program, the candidates are fully accommodated with living expenses, study fees, and activity fees monthly while learning Japanese in Vietnam. At the same time, they are sponsored with round-trip plane tickets, visa fees, and various other offers.
Qualified candidates can participate in the national certification exam in Japan. The average income in Japan ranges from 27 million to 47 million Vietnamese Dong, depending on the job position.
To date, JICWELS has recruited 12 cohorts with over 1,800 Vietnamese candidates coming to work in Japan. Mr. Kataoka Yoshikazu, Director of JICWELS, announced that in September 2024, the organization will host a live broadcast program about the content of this program for the nursing students at PCTU. Attending the reception, Dr. Le Van Cuong, Principal of the university, expressed warm welcome and assured to create all necessary conditions for students to access this program.
Besides the opportunity to work at hospitals within the system right after graduation, the students still also have numerous opportunities to participate in the workforce in developed countries such as Japan.
