Internationa experts share applications of doppler echocardiography in critical care

On July 27, Phan Chau Trinh Institute of Medicine – University (PCTU), in collaboration with GE HealthCare, officially opened the specialized workshop "Updates on Doppler Echocardiography in Critical Care," bringing together a large number of physicians and nurses working in critical care, anesthesiology and intensive care, cardiology, and other related specialties.
 

Held over two days, July 27–28, the workshop focused on updating participants with the latest clinical knowledge and practical skills in the application of Doppler echocardiography for hemodynamic assessment and the management of critically ill patients.

In addition to in-depth lectures, the program featured numerous hands-on training sessions, enabling participants to develop practical skills in trans-thoracic echocardiography (TTE) probe positioning, color Doppler imaging, cardiac output (CO) measurement, pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) estimation, tissue Doppler imaging, assessment of ventricular systolic and diastolic function, mean pressure gradient measurement, as well as analysis of real clinical cases and professional discussions with the faculty.

- Dr. Catherine Louise Cole, MD – Former Chair of the Critical Care Medicine Program Assessment Subcommittee, The University of Sydney (Australia).
- Dr. Rita Zahara Ibrahim, MD – Cardiovascular Critical Care Specialist, National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita Hospital (Indonesia).
- Dr. Lyndal Russell – Intensive Care Physician, Nepean Hospital (Australia).
- Mr. Keren Mowbray – Cardiac Sonographer, Nepean Hospital (Australia).
