Faculty Development: A Foundation for Enhancing Training Quality

The Institute-School system at Phan Chau Trinh University is a unique advantage in medical education. However, to ensure outstanding training outcomes, the university council doesn't solely invest in facilities and practical equipment; they also prioritize resource development, particularly the enhancement of instructor teams. This involves bolstering quantity, capacity, and expertise levels, as well as staying updated with new technologies and modern teaching
methodologies in medical instruction.
As part of this strategic roadmap, Phan Chau Trinh University collaborated with the Center for Medical Education at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City this morning. Together, they organized a training program for the university's faculty aimed at enhancing their teaching skills and methods to implement an innovative training program in the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. Leading this initiative were two esteemed experts in teaching methods from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City: Dr. Le Khac Bao and Dr. Nguyen Duc Khanh. Both not only bring teaching experience from their
own institution but also received training at Harvard University, renowned for its advanced teaching methods and effectiveness in medical education.
This training session focuses on enhancing teaching skills across theoretical, pre-clinical, and clinical training for students. It emphasizes mastering the application of modern educational tools, refining student assessment criteria, and introducing innovations in proactive medical teaching methods. Moreover, the diverse expertise and experience among the training faculty, alongside contributions from doctors and PCTU lecturers, ensure an
engaging and proactive learning atmosphere.
Spanning 12 days with a comprehensive curriculum of 88 theory and practice courses, this training program is meticulously structured and organized to effectively develop the capacity to design innovative teaching programs in medical education.
