Continuing from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, sixth-year medical students officially enter the Graduation Thesis Defense period.

Today (09/05), at Phan Chau Trinh University, 3 out of 8 Medical Doctor graduation thesis evaluation committees officially took place, marking the beginning of the graduation thesis presentation series for Medical students of the 2020–2026 cohort.

On the first day, the committees reviewed numerous research topics in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Community Medicine with high clinical applicability, focusing on issues currently receiving significant attention in medical practice such as: gestational diabetes, Group B Streptococcus infection in pregnant women, pediatric pneumonia, febrile seizures, Helicobacter pylori infection in children, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of treatment methods and clinical interventions at hospitals.

The topics selected and conducted by the students demonstrated serious investment in time, data collection, and the ability to approach scientific research within a practical medical environment. Through clinical data extraction, patient record monitoring, and research result analysis, students have gradually developed evidence-based medical thinking and independent research capabilities throughout their studies.

These achievements also reflect the effectiveness of PCTU’s training model closely integrated with early hospital practice. Exposure to the clinical environment from the first year has provided students with a strong foundation to develop research-oriented thinking from real medical practice and continuously improve professional competencies throughout the training process.

Notably, the fact that 2 students confidently presented their theses entirely in English before the professional committee not only demonstrated academic competence, mastery of specialized terminology, and the ability to access international medical literature, but also reflected the proactive global integration mindset of the new generation of young doctors in the context of modern medicine.

The graduation thesis defense season for the Medical Doctor program at Phan Chau Trinh University has officially begun, marking the end of a six-year journey filled with pressure, challenges, resilience, and pride for these future doctors.
