Commemorating the 71st Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955 – February 27, 2026)

On the afternoon of February 27, Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine Hospital held a gathering to commemorate the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (27/02/1955 – 27/02/2026). This was an occasion for doctors and healthcare staff to reflect on their journey, share professional stories, and renew their motivation for the road ahead.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tung – Chairman of the University Council – expressed his deep gratitude to the team of doctors and medical staff who are carrying out three missions: Treatment, Teaching, and Scientific Research. Alongside his words of appreciation, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tung also conveyed a message about the spirit of lifelong learning, reminding the team to continuously enhance their professional expertise in order to adapt to the increasingly demanding requirements and constant evolution of modern medicine.

Continuing in that spirit, Dr. Pham Van Uoc – an alumnus of the University – shared his heartfelt thoughts on the occasion of February 27:

After six years of study and officially receiving my medical practice certificate, this is the first February 27 that I celebrate as a physician. What I value most is not only the solid foundation of professional knowledge, but also the early clinical exposure, the empathy toward patients, and the medical ethics cultivated from my very first year at PCTU. It was this standardized training environment that helped us not only learn how to treat, but also how to listen and accompany our patients, so that we could confidently enter the profession with both competence and compassion.
On Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our teachers and senior colleagues. Wishing my fellow doctors to always keep the flame of dedication alive and remain “steadfast in heart – firm in profession” on this noble journey!
