Workshop on improving training programs and perfecting the smart medical university model

On February 15, 2023, Phan Chau Trinh University and other practicing hospitals in the system held a workshop to discuss the content of improving the training program according to the school's output standards and perfecting the Model Phan Chau Trinh Smart Medical University (PSMU – Phan Chau Trinh Smart Medical University).

Previously, the University's Scientific Council approved the set of output standards for the health sector. To graduate, students need to meet 6 standards of knowledge, preclinical and clinical practice skills, medical ethics, community service, foreign languages, and graduation thesis. In order to meet the output standards, in addition to ensuring resources and increasing investment, the training program needs to be updated and improved towards integration, including basic industry knowledge and industry knowledge combined on same body of knowledge. Improve active teaching methods, combining traditional teaching methods with competency-based teaching (CBL) or problem-based learning (PBL). In which, students are the central object of the teaching process. At the same time, strengthen the application of artificial intelligence technology platforms in teaching and learning to gradually adapt to the digital university model.

The rapid development of AI and data science poses significant challenges for medical schools, including the presence of Phan Chau Trinh University. In the near future, the concepts, positions, and roles of managers, administrators, faculty, and students will undergo changes. The workforce of an organization will gradually decrease as AI-powered resources, like ChatGPT, become involved, carrying the "brain" of artificial intelligence. In this context, the University's Council has proposed the Phan Chau Trinh Smart Medical University (PSMU) model.

Ở mô hình này, từ quá trình vận hành quản trị đến hoạt động đào tạo được điều hành bởi một hệ điều hành thông minh, được xem như là Hệ điều hành giáo dục. Trong đó, toàn bộ quá trình phục vụ cho hoạt động đào tạo được quản lý bởi hệ thống AI LMS (AI Learning Management System)

Giáo trình điện tử được xây dựng dưới sự hỗ trợ của AI. Kho học liệu số tương tác này sẽ được lưu trữ và phân phối đến người học thông qua LMS. Đồng thời, các tình huống tiền lâm sàng và lâm sàng cũng được chuyển tải thành các kịch bản điện tử. Bệnh viện thực hành cũng phải được tổ chức và hoạt động cùng mô hình tương thích gọi là bệnh viện thông minh (Smart Hostpital)… Giảng viên là người trung gian chuyển tải vấn đề, mục tiêu và phương pháp thông qua hệ thống. Còn người học, lúc này họ sẽ tiếp cận với nguồn tài nguyên số, tương tác với giảng viên điện tử để tự khai phá tri thức và rèn luyện kỹ năng. Và đích cuối cùng là sinh viên phải đạt điều kiện ra trường theo bộ chuẩn đầu ra.

Tất nhiên, trong y khoa, vai trò của việc thực hành lâm sàng tại bệnh viện và trên người thật là khó có thể thay thế một cách hoàn toàn.

Có thể nói, Y khoa là một trong những lĩnh vực có thể ứng dụng linh hoạt nền tảng công nghệ này linh hoạt và mang tính khả thi cao. Và Đại học Phan Châu Trinh đã sớm thích ứng và chuẩn bị cho sự thay đổi.
