Vietnam - Germany Academic Exchange: Nutrition and Chronic Diseases

On the morning of July 22, at Phan Chau Trinh University, the Vietnam-German academic exchange program on the topic of “Nutrition and Chronic Diseases,” organized by Phan Chau Trinh University in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), was a successful event. The program attracted nearly 60 experts, scholars, and researchers from various educational institutions, including top universities from both domestic and international settings, to participate in this academic exchange and share their insights.

During this program, experts provided valuable and up-to-date information on nutrition and chronic diseases. For instance, Professor Klaus G. Parhofer (Ludwig Maximilians University, Germany) discussed "Nutrition and Cardiovascular Disease", Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Huyen (Head of the Endocrinology and Rheumatology Department at the National Geriatric Hospital, Deputy Head of the Geriatrics Department at Hanoi Medical University) presented on "Nutrition in the Care of the Elderly and Prevention of Chronic Diseases", Dr. Renee Stark MD (FRCP(C), Health Economics Department at the Helmholtz Center) shared insights on "Aspects of Health Economics and Nutrition", and Dr. To Viet Thuan (Training Director, Deputy Head of the Clinical Department of Medicine at Phan Chau Trinh University) covered "Nutrition and Diabetes".

 

Delegates highly appreciated the content, especially the updated evidence-based knowledge on nutrition and its connection to chronic diseases. Additionally, diagnostic assistance methods and treatments that improve nutritional status, shorten recovery times, reduce complication rates, and lower mortality rates in the treatment of chronic diseases. Various reports were presented during the conference, demonstrating the passion and commitment of the speakers to the development of the medical and nutrition fields.
