Professor Lien was born in 1940 in Hoi An, Quang Nam, then followed his family to the North. In 1963, the country needed scientists to participate in the fight against "germ war" in the war against the US. She was a third year student at Hanoi Medical University, she volunteered to enter the battlefield in the South.
Graduated from a doctor in late 1965, in early 1966 she worked in the South. In early 1972, she returned to the North and then went to study vaccine technology in Germany. Back home, her whole life has been with the laboratory, research and vaccine production.
