Phan Chau Trinh University tests COVID-19 for all students before entering the new school year

According to the school's 2020-2021 school year plan, all students of the old courses will re-enroll from September 7, 2019. To ensure the safety of the staff and students, the University has re-activated the infection prevention process that was applied right from the first day of the outbreak, disinfected and cleaned the entire school area, room At the same time, all lecturers and students are required to be sampled by the School's CRAGB Research Center to test for SARS-CoV-2 virus using Realtime RT-PCR technique first. The school is free of the full cost of this test when starting official study.

From 13:00 pm on September 6, 2020, the students of the School were present to report medical, check body temperature and take samples. 100% of the students wear masks and sit in line to ensure relaxation. Here, students will be given a test card to fill in personal information, then the teacher will guide the students to line up at the pre-arranged testing area.Each person will be given a sample of throat fluid and a sample of nasal discharge. The staff participating in the sampling are equipped with protective clothing, gloves, mask and splash goggles ... All stages are strictly followed by standard procedures.

Phan Chau Trinh University is a medical training unit oriented to training gold in applied research. The University has invested and established a Research Center for Biomedical Science and Technology (CRAGB) with a full range of equipment, applying new testing techniques including Realtime RT-PCR technique used for testing. The current diagnostic test for SARS-CoV-2 virus causing epidemic COVID-19. This test method is performed according to standard procedures of CDC USA and Berlin (Germany), the time to give results is from 3 to 4 hours.

Previously, together with Quang Nam province in the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic, the school supported and implemented free of charge the first 500 samples of SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic tests in April-May 2020. During the outbreak in August 2020, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province asked the School to participate in testing to help reduce the load for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Quang Nam. Accordingly, the CRAGB Research Center has made more than 22,000 samples for isolation units in Que Son, Duy Xuyen, Dai Loc districts, Dien Ban town and Hoi An city. The Center has detected exactly the positive cases announced by the Health Ministry.

Over the past time, the school has provided knowledge about mechanism of transmission, virulence, measures to prevent SARS-CoV-2 virus, what is dangerous warning situation.
