To create a learning environment closely connected with real-life experiences and to strengthen multicultural connections, on April 15, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) organized the program “Discover Hoi An – A Heritage Journey and Cultural Connection” for international students currently undertaking internships at the university.

This is one of the activities under PCTU’s international student exchange and hosting program, designed to provide students with opportunities to experience Vietnamese culture and society alongside their academic studies and professional practice.
As part of the program, students from the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) joined an experiential trip to Hoi An – one of Vietnam’s most iconic cultural and heritage destinations.

The highlight of the program was the live outdoor performance “Hoi An Memories” – a large-scale artistic masterpiece internationally praised by the media as “the most beautiful show in the world.”
With an outdoor stage spanning 25,000m², nearly 500 performers, and a modern sound and lighting system, the program recreated more than 400 years of Hoi An’s history through 5 emotionally rich chapters.

More than just a standalone activity, this is part of the series of experiences PCTU has designed for international students – from extracurricular activities, field trips, and camping to exploring cultural destinations. Through these programs, students not only advance academically but also truly live in a multicultural environment and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam.
