On the afternoon of June 14, students from Phan Chau Trinh University continued their volunteer initiative "Cook Together – Care Together – Share Together" with its second edition, delivering over 50 portions of chicken curry rice directly to underprivileged workers and families of pediatric patients in Da Nang.
From early morning, the volunteer students went to the market, carefully selecting every bunch of vegetables and cut of meat. In the bustling makeshift kitchen, everyone had a role — some prepped the ingredients, others cut chicken, seasoned the food, and plated the meals. Each meal was thoughtfully prepared, nutritious, beautifully arranged, and filled with the students’ care and compassion.
At exactly 5:00 PM, student teams set out across different areas — under bridges and along streets in Ngu Hanh Son and Hai Chau districts — to hand-deliver the hot meals to working people earning their livelihood on the city’s edges. Warm meals also reached family members of young patients being treated at Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children, serving as gentle encouragement during their difficult caregiving journey.
This program is more than just a charitable activity — it is a meaningful way for medical students to gain a deeper understanding of empathy and the value of giving. It’s a quiet yet powerful lesson on their path to becoming compassionate future physicians.
Let’s take a look back at some touching moments from the journey, captured by the students themselves in the video below:
