On December 14-15, twenty leaders, faculty members, doctors, and researchers from the Phan Chau Trinh University System participated in the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Ethics in Biomedical Research training organized by the Department of Science, Technology, and Training under the Ministry of Health. The training also welcomed lecturers and doctors from the Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy and Hospital 199.

The course was delivered by experts from the Ministry of Health and the National Ethics Committee, including:

1. Dr. Nguyen Ngo Quang - Director of the Department of Science, Technology, and Training, Vice President of the National Medical Council, and Chief of the Office of the National Ethics Committee.

2. Dr. Vo Thi Nhi Ha - Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific Research Management and Technology Development, Department of Science, Technology, and Training.

3. Dr. Nguyen Viet Hai - Member of the National Ethics Committee.

The training aimed to enhance the professional capacity of Ethics Committee members, faculty, and researchers in designing and conducting biomedical research in compliance with international standards. Key topics covered include:

- Adherence to GCP Principles: Standardizing procedures from research design, execution, and monitoring to reporting.

- Ensuring Scientific and Ethical Standards: Protecting the rights and safety of research participants while ensuring the reliability and objectivity of research outcomes.

- Meeting International Standards: Improving research quality and facilitating the application of research results in medical practice.

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) serves as an international guideline for researchers, sponsors, and research review boards. It ensures data accuracy, is internationally recognized, and prioritizes the rights and welfare of research participants.

As a medical training institution with a focus on sustainable development, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) emphasizes integrating education and scientific research. The university is particularly dedicated to stem cell research and recently completed the construction of its Biomedical Research Institute, which is expected to become operational soon. Participation in the GCP training marks an important step in ensuring that PCTU’s future research adheres strictly to international standards, contributing to the advancement of domestic medical quality and global integration.

PCTU continuously strives to enhance its scientific research capacity, aiming to produce high-quality studies that contribute to the development of Vietnamese medicine and its reach on the international stage.
