Vietnam - Patient COVID-19 number 485 died, the 18th death

The Ministry of Health has just announced the 18th death since the COVID-19 epidemic appeared in Vietnam, patient number 485, female 52 years old in Da Nang.

This morning, August 13, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son, Head of the Permanent Division of Special Anti-epidemic COVID-19 of the Ministry of Health in Da Nang City, information about the death of patient COVID-19 . This is the 18th death caused by COVID-19 since the pandemic occurred in Vietnam.

The patient's death was a case of 485, female, 52 years old, address: Cam Le, Da Nang. History of end-stage chronic renal failure, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes.

From July 15 to 31, patients being treated at the Da Nang Hospital Urology Department were sampled and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

On July 31, the patient was transferred to Da Nang Lung Hospital, was diagnosed with COVID-19 complications of severe pneumonia in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure, hypertension, type 2 diabetes.

On August 1, patients with respiratory failure and shortness of breath were transferred to the Department of Tropical Medicine at Danang Hospital;

On August 4, the patient was transferred to Hoa Vang Medical Center for continued treatment, with a coma, high fever, mechanical ventilation.

On 12-8 patients died at 19:00, with a diagnosis of death COVID-19, complications of severe pneumonia in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Yesterday, August 12, the Ministry of Health also coordinated to organize a treatment workshop for patients with chronic kidney failure in conditions of COVID-19 epidemic. During this phase of the epidemic, many patients with chronic kidney failure with COVID-19 died.

Currently, hospitals such as Da Nang Lung Hospital, Quang Nam Central General Hospital, Hue Central Hospital ... all have serious patients with serious progress or even critical illness under treatment.
