According to the Ministry of Health, 31 new cases (patient 4513-4543) include    1 isolated case immediately after entry in Ho Chi Minh City,   30 domestic cases recorded in Bac Ninh (16), Bac Giang (10) , Lang Son (3), HCMC (1), of which 8  new cases are in the isolation area, 22  new cases are in the blocked area.

As of 6 a.m. on May 19, "Vietnam has a total of 3,072 domestic cases and 1,471 imported cases, from April 27 to now, 1,502 new cases have been recorded.

The Ministry of Health also said that the testing capacity is outstanding, from the beginning of the epidemic season to May 18, the whole country carried out Realtime RT-PCR tests with 3,324,043 samples, equivalent to 4,398,533 turns of people tested. , of which from April 29 to now, 548,538 samples have been taken, equivalent to 871,594 turns of people.

Details of new cases:

1 quarantine case right after entry nhập

Case 4513: male, 41 years old, specialist, Belgian nationality. On May 15, from Qatar, he entered Tan Son Nhat Airport on flight QR970 and was isolated immediately after entering Ho Chi Minh City. The first test result on May 17 was positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently being isolated and treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital.

HCMC (1 case)

Case 4514: male, 35 years old, address in Thu Duc City; Epidemiological information is still being investigated. Test results on May 18 were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently being isolated and treated at Cu Chi field hospital.

Lang Son (3 cases)

Case 4515-4517: 1 case is F1 of patient 3482 and 2 cases are workers of Quang Chau Industrial Park, Bac Giang province, who have been isolated before. Test results on May 18 were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently being isolated and treated at the Health Center of Huu Lung district, Lang Son province.

Bac Ninh (16 cases)

Case 4518-4533: including 13 F1s in the blockade area and 3 F1s of patient 3277, previously isolated. Test results on May 18 were positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Bac Giang (10 cases)

Case  4534-4543: including 9 F1s related to Van Trung Industrial Park and 1 F1 of patient 4244, isolated. Test results on May 18 were positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Bac Ninh and Bac Giang are the two hottest hotspots at the moment, and it is worth noting that they are two provinces next to each other, so they can communicate and spread to each other. On the afternoon of May 18, the Ministry of Health had a meeting with Bac Ninh province and assessed that the number of cases would continue to increase, requiring strong measures to prevent epidemics in industrial parks and residential areas.

Yesterday afternoon, May 18, the experts of the "Severe" Patient Consultation Group also held a consultation to discuss the treatment methods of 20 severe cases, this is the largest number of severe cases ever in a consultation session. .

In Bac Ninh, the hot spot of the epidemic, there are currently 25 cases of severe disease, of which 3 are very severe. On the afternoon of May 18, the Ministry of Health assigned Bach Mai Hospital to send experts to support the construction of an active treatment area for severe cases right in Bac Ninh.
