Vietnam has the 68th case of COVID-19

A male patient, 41 years old, American nationality, married to a Vietnamese and living in Da Nang is the 68th case of COVID-19 in Vietnam so far.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, on the morning of March 18, Nha Trang Pasteur Institute received 2 samples of suspected COVID-19 infection, 1 of 2 samples were positive, bringing the total number of patients recorded to 18-3 to 68. people.

Accordingly, a 41-year-old male patient of American nationality married in Da Nang and is living in Da Nang. Patient exited abroad on February 11 and traveled to many countries: India, Morocco, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands.

On March 13, the patient took flight SQ 323, seat 57H from Amsterdam to Singapore; On March 14, the patient traveled from Singapore to Da Nang on flight MI 632, seat 15F, arrived in Da Nang at 11am.

In Da Nang, the patient made medical declaration and was temporarily quarantined at the border gate, then isolated at Hospital 199 of the Ministry of Public Security so far.

So far, Vietnam has recorded 68 cases of COVID-19, of which 16 cases have been cured and have been discharged from hospital. The remaining cases are undergoing isolation treatment, of which 1 case was negative for the second time for the new strain of corona virus, 3 cases had the first negative result.

On March 13, the Government announced to suspend the permission to enter Vietnam with EU and UK citizens from 12pm on March 15, and at the same time suspend the issuance of visas at the border.
