Most people think that the growth of the dental industry only creates opportunities for dentists, but few realize there is also a workforce gap alongside dentists.

According to Dental Market Research, Vietnam’s dental market is among the fastest-growing in Southeast Asia, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 6 - 8%.
The field of cosmetic dentistry is truly booming. People are becoming increasingly aware of oral health and smile aesthetics. Services such as orthodontics (braces), porcelain crowns, and dental implants are rapidly growing. A beauty-related industry is quietly surging. This has led to a rapid increase in the number of dental clinics across many localities.
In addition, Vietnam is becoming a destination for many international patients seeking dental treatment thanks to improving service quality and reasonable costs. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Vietnam Medical Association report that around 100,000 foreign tourists each year (from Australia, the United States, Canada, and others) choose Vietnam for dental restoration services.
And the obvious reality is that as the dental market grows, the demand for human resources increases not only for dentists but also for those directly involved in patient care and treatment support.
Interestingly, while many people know about the profession of dentists, very few realize that behind every treatment chair are specialized positions that many dental facilities are actively seeking. Demand continues to rise, but the number of professionally trained personnel is still not truly keeping pace with the market’s growth.
Who are they? How important are their roles in the journey of caring for every smile? Stay tuned for the next article!
