PCTU studies at ISSAR 2019 international conference - Gyeongju, Korea

Every year, over one million people around the world die from hemorrhagic disease. In 2018, dengue fever epidemic increases and complicatedly develops in all central provinces and cities, meanwhile, there are very few studies on dengue epidemiology in the central region. Stemming from the above reality, in November 2018, the Center for Research and Application of Gene Technology in Biomedical Sciences (CRAGB) of Phan Chau Trinh University implemented the first study with the topic “Characteristics Survey clinical and correlation with dengue virus type in dengue patients admitted to Quang Nam Regional General Hospital during the 2018 epidemic ”.

In this study, the molecular biology technique in clinical microbiology was first applied to analyze the relationship between the clinical scene and the serotype of dengue virus in patients with dengue in disease. Quang Nam General Hospital. Initial research results of this topic were presented in a poster at the International Conference on Infections and Antibiotic Resistance ICIC & ISAAR 2019 (International Interscience Conference on Infection and Chemotherapy & International Symposium on Antimicrobial Agents and Resistance) in Gyeongju, Korea from September 26 to 28, 2019. This is a new step in promoting and nurturing scientific research at Phan Chau Trinh University. We plan to do more in-depth studies and believe that these studies need to be continued every year to discover the law of translation, which has a significant contribution to epidemiological studies, to help prevention of dengue fever epidemic. Also at the ISAAR 2019 Conference, another study entitled: “Microbial Pathogens Causing Community Acquired Pneumonia In Vietnamese Out-Patients”, roughly translated as microbiological agents causing community pneumonia on Vietnamese outpatients TS.BS. Pham Hung Van, Rector of Phan Chau Trinh University, won the Outstanding Poster Awards (Outstanding Poster Award). The honor of the Teacher, also the honor of Phan Chau Trinh University, of the teachers and students of our school. He is a teacher, a guide, an example who has worked tirelessly for the development on the path of scientific research applied in medicine under this school roof.

The goal of developing a scientific research center right at the university lecture hall is one of the key development strategies, as well as a highlight and difference point of Phan Chau Trinh University. Here, we believe that there will be research works to contribute to the development of medicine.
