At Phan Chau Trinh University, the library model is no longer limited to a traditional book storage space. Instead, the university has implemented a digital library, allowing students to access an integrated medical resource repository by scanning QR codes and logging in with their personal accounts.

Access is designed to be simple and convenient. Students only need to use their phones or computers to scan the QR code at the library, then log in using their student accounts. After logging in, users can directly access the entire digital resource system.
This repository is built from multiple reputable domestic and international learning resources, continuously updated to support study, research, and clinical practice.
Among them, UpToDate is one of the most widely used evidence-based clinical decision support tools in the world. More than 36,500 healthcare organizations and 1.3 million physicians in 187 countries use this system as a reference in treatment. Its content is developed and peer-reviewed by over 6,700 medical experts, continuously updated with the latest evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Amboss is an electronic library for medical students with more than 15,000 topics and over 2,000 clinical questions. This platform integrates learning materials, videos, lectures, and a question bank (Qbank), helping learners both reinforce knowledge and develop clinical reasoning skills. The system also provides exam simulation modes, enabling students to self-assess their competence in an environment similar to real exams.
For international-oriented learning, students can access the Master the Boards Step 2 CK (Kaplan) program. This is a preparation program for the USMLE Step 2 CK exam, featuring focused content, video lectures, a question bank, and personalized learning pathways to optimize study effectiveness.
In addition, the digital library provides access to JAMA – one of the world’s most prestigious medical journals – along with an internal repository developed by Phan Chau Trinh University, including lectures, study materials, and research works.
In the near future, the digital repository at Phan Chau Trinh University will apply artificial intelligence (AI) to support student research and learning.
Accordingly, the system will integrate an AI chatbot directly into the digital library platform. Instead of searching in the traditional way, students can enter questions directly. The AI will receive requests, analyze content, and automatically retrieve data from library resources such as UpToDate, Amboss, internal materials… to provide relevant results.
Beyond simply displaying materials, the system is also capable of synthesizing, filtering, and suggesting key information, helping learners quickly access essential content without spending too much time screening information.
With this model, students can study and access materials in a smart and modern way. The digital library becomes an integral part of a practice-oriented medical education environment, supporting learners in accessing updated knowledge and international standards throughout their studies.
