Luciano Orsini, a kidney surgery patient last year, delayed surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia because of the serious epidemic. He was tested for viruses several times before going to the official operating table on April 29.
"It was an intense waiting, I kept checking the time," he said. Orsini is currently recovering at home. The most recent viral test result was negative.
"The epidemic puts a lot of pressure on the treatment system," said Dr. Howard Burris, President of the Cancer Society, Director of the Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Tennesse, USA.
He also recommended that patients with a history of cancer and lung problems be particularly vigilant, isolating themselves at home strictly, and paying attention to the health of other family members.
Nearly half of the patients in Dr. Warner's study were curing cancer when they were diagnosed with Covid-19. Others have either completed treatment, or have not yet started. Some people have a history of cancer. The cause of the extensive survey is due to the fact that some of the treatments can affect the lungs and immune system for many years after the route ends. This is closely related to the ability to recover from Covid-19.
