From the Classroom to the Hospital: Every Destination, a Distinct Impression After lectures and pre-clinical training sessions, the hospital becomes the “field” where medical students deepen their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and gain invaluable professional experience.
Each hospital has its own characteristics — in terms of cases, environment, and organization. At Phan Chau Trinh University, students have the opportunity to practice at various medical facilities, as if experiencing different “climates” in medicine. These diverse experiences broaden their clinical perspectives and enrich their professional journeys.
Beyond that, students are inspired and guided by experienced doctors — those who have devoted their careers to quietly nurturing the next generation. Their closeness, dedication, and patient mentorship help students truly feel the humanistic spirit of medicine — something no textbook could ever fully convey.
And here are the genuine reflections from those who have lived these moments:

My internship at the Pediatrics Department was both meaningful and emotional. I was guided with great dedication by the doctors in patient examination, monitoring disease progression, and gaining valuable clinical knowledge. The friendly environment and the warm support from the staff made me feel truly welcomed. It was this experience that nurtured my love for children and the field of Pediatrics.

“My internship at Tam Tri Nha Trang General Hospital was a truly valuable learning journey. Under the dedicated guidance of doctors and nurses, I had the opportunity to engage in clinical practice, develop examination skills, and communicate with pediatric patients and their families. The friendly and supportive environment in the department helped me gain more confidence in my studies and career orientation. I am truly grateful for and cherish this meaningful experience.

My internship at the Internal Medicine Department was a valuable experience in my journey as a general medicine student. After months of theoretical learning, this was where I encountered a wide range of complex internal diseases — from cardiology and respiratory to gastroenterology and endocrinology. Thanks to the enthusiasm and guidance of the doctors, I learned not only how to approach and recognize symptoms but also how to think clinically in diagnosis. Each day of internship was an opportunity to practice my skills and learn to listen. Though there is still much to improve, I feel that I have grown and developed a deeper love for the medical profession.

And perhaps, it is those “journeys” through different “lands” that help students grow, learn more, and become not only more competent but also more compassionate physicians — carrying with them countless unforgettable memories.
