How to recognize and prevent dengue fever

Dengue Dengue is an acute infectious disease caused by dengue virus, a blood-borne disease transmitted by the mosquito Aedesaegypti. The disease has clinical manifestations mainly acute and hemorrhagic fever with many other forms, but severe with shock due to decreased blood circulation.
What is dengue dengue transmission vector?
Dengue virus is not directly transmitted from person to person, but through Aedesaegypti mosquito. Mosquitoes spread the disease by burning sick people and then stinging other normal people. Aedesaegypti rarely burns at night. They usually burn 2 hours after sunrise and before sunset, although they can also burn you at different times during the day.

Ways of transmission of dengue dengue

Signs of dengue dengue
Sudden high fever, continuously for 2 - 7 days, and accompanied by 2 of the following symptoms:

- Hemorrhagic manifestations such as: bleeding spots under the skin, bleeding teeth or nosebleeds.
- Headache
- Anorexia, nausea, and vomiting
- Skin congestion, rash
- Muscle pain, joint pain

- Double eye pain

What to do when you have dengue fever?

Immediately bring the patient to a medical facility for examination and treatment when it is suspected that the patient has dengue hemorrhagic fever.
If mild, care at home can be done by:

- Rest. Drink a lot of water, replace electrolytes, you can use Oresol and juice as possible. Snack: porridge, soup, milk.
- Use antipyretics (paracetamol, not aspirin to reduce fever), cool compresses.
- Continuous monitoring, if you see any signs of bleeding or worse (lethargic, irritable, struggling, cold limbs, stomach pain, vomiting), you should immediately go to the hospital for examination and treatment.

How to prevent dengue effectively

Currently, there is no vaccine for disease prevention and there is no specific treatment, so prevention is mainly based on prevention of vectors. Measures include:

- Killing mosquitoes, rodents (wandering) and preventing mosquito bites.

The Aedesaegypti mosquito causes dengue

- Eliminate mosquito breeding sites, kill larvae by: Putting fish into all indoor water containers (tanks, wells, jars, jars, rolls, etc.) to destroy larvae. waste items around the house such as broken bottles, butter tubes, coconut shells ..., clean the environment, turn water containers upside down when not in use. Change water, wash jars, jars, jars weekly. Put the salt in the bowl of the cupboard (cupboard).
- When an epidemic occurs, it is necessary to strengthen anti-epidemic measures, quickly reduce the mosquito density by spraying with chemicals to kill mosquitoes.
