Orthodontic Biomechanics Workshop at Phan Chau Trinh University

This morning (October 11th) at Phan Chau Trinh University, the Department of Orthodontics successfully organized a dental workshop on the topic of "Orthodontic Biomechanics - Straight Wire Technique - Segmentation and Clinical Cases." The workshop was sponsored by ABC GROUP.

This topic attracted significant interest and participation from many Maxillofacial Surgeons in hospitals and major dental centers in the Central Highlands region. The content of the workshop, presented by Dr. Vittorio Caccifesta from Italy, focused on clinical cases of Class I malocclusion and Class II, III malocclusion (with or without tooth extraction), orthodontic treatment for adult patients (including traditional brackets, self-ligating brackets, and lingual braces in the advanced session), as well as addressing temporomandibular joint issues in orthodontic treatment. The emphasis was on mastering various skills using precise manual techniques with the straight wire technique and incorporating segmentation techniques when necessary to enhance the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Vittorio Caccifesta, known as a renowned orthodontic expert from Italy, currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Pavia, Italy. He has also been a member of the Research Society at the Orthodontic Department of Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. Dr. Vittorio's current clinical interests include lingual orthodontics in adults, biomechanics, and interventional treatment.

Dr. Vittorio Cacciafesta is an orthodontic specialist and consultant in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pavia (Italy), the University of Naples "Federico II" (Italy), Humboldt University Berlin (Germany), and Aarhus University (Denmark).	Dr Nguyen Huu Hai is the Deputy Head of the Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial at Phan Chau Trinh University, and he delivered the opening speech at the seminar.
Dr Tran The Tho (standing on the left) is the interpreter at the seminar.	Dr Tho is currently the Secretary General of the Vietnam Orthodontic Association (VAO) and a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Orthodontic Association (HAO).
The seminar brought together many orthodontists from major hospitals and orthodontic centers in the Central region.	Dr. Vittorio brought a very interesting and innovative topic to the seminar. He introduced many new techniques and insights during his presentation.

The presentation by Dr. Vittorio was translated by Dr. Tho Tran The, the Secretary-General of the Vietnamese Orthodontic Association (VAO) and the Vietnamese Association of Orthodontists in Ho Chi Minh City (HAO). Dr. Tho is also a lecturer at the Department of Orthodontics at Phan Chau Trinh University.

Dr. Le Van Ha, the Head of the Orthodontics Department at Hospital C in Da Nang, mentioned, "Dr. Vittorio brought a very interesting and innovative topic to the seminar." He, along with other attending doctors, expressed their desire for the university to organize more seminars in the future, providing opportunities for orthodontists to access, learn, and share experiences.
